GlassUp srl is an Italian company (founded in 2012) which develops eyeglasses showing any kind of information to the user: emails, text messages, news, scores, heartbeats, translations, speed, directions, build instructions, subtitles, captions, sheet music – depending on the app downloaded. Conceptually similar to other famous smart gasses, but not eye-straining, and with the appearance of classy sunglasses.

GlassUp participated in several editions of the brokerage event Innovat&Match and in 2016 they met Ateknea Solutions, Maltese Research Centre providing mechanical and software solutions to clients in developing new products and supporting them in finding EU  funding sources.

GlassUp decided to cooperate with Ateknea Solutions on H2020 SME Instrument - phase 2 proposal writing and submission of the proposal. The proposal is about smart glasses reproducing contents of smartphone via Bluetooth® directly on the right lens of the augmented reality eye-wear. Thanks to an innovative optical system, the information is visualized directly and in a perfect resolution, avoiding any type of eye-stress.

The project was awarded with the Seal of Excellence for phase 2 even if did not get the funding. GlassUp and Ateknea Solutions are continuing their research partnership for the rest of the year and will resubmit the project proposal again.
