During this event which will take place on 9th March 2018, the Malta Business Bureau (MBB) will launch an Environment Economic Report, which was carried out as part of the Investing in Energy Initiative:

The report assesses the environmental and economic impacts of the implementation of Article 8 of the Energy Efficiency Directive in Malta (LN 196 of 2014, obliging Non-SMEs to carry out energy audits at least once every 4 years. The study also examines measures already taken or planned by 20 Non-SMEs (approximately 30% of Malta’s total). It is the first such exercise for Malta, and has also been welcomed as a first by EU industry representative umbrella organisations.

Following the report launch, attendees shall break out into chaired round-table discussions. The purpose of these discussions is to obtain open feedback from attendees regarding the report’s findings, as well as information which will be relevant to the formation of a financial instrument which businesses in Malta could tap into for energy measures, which is currently being developed by the European Investment Bank’s advisory arm and  the Planning and Priorities Co-ordination Division (PPCD), Malta’s structural funds authority.
