Malta SME Week programme just launched!
European SME Week offers a wide range of fairs, conferences and workshops where you can: Ø learn about existing support programmes for small companies Ø see how other entrepreneurs coped with similar challenges Ø seize opportunities for cooperation and networking Existing and budding entrepreneurs, young people, business organisations, business support providers, educational institutions - everyone can get involved in European SME Week. The European SME Week 2012 will take place from 15 - 21 October and will aim to: · provide information on what the EU and national, regional and local authorities are offering as support to micro, small and medium-sized businesses; · promote entrepreneurship so that more people, and in particular younger ones, seriously consider becoming an entrepreneur as a career option; · give recognition to entrepreneurs for their contribution to Europe's welfare, jobs, innovation and competitiveness. Date: 10 October 2012 Title: Female Business Cafe’ Event: Mentoring Seminar for unemployed women, women in active professional life as well as students wanting to set-up their own businesses. Practical sessions on entrepreneurial skills. Venue: Herb Garden, St Anton Palace, Attard Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm Date: 11 October 2012 Title: “Tapping Single Market opportunities” Event: Seminar demonstrating various online tools available for Maltese exporters and supporting SMEs seeking to internationalise. This will be followed by individual meetings with regional experts. Venue: Malta Enterprise offices, Pieta’ Time: 10.00am – 2.00pm Date: 11 October 2012 Title: “We mean Business” EU Campaign Event: This National Info Session delivered by the European Union Programme Agency will highlight the benefits of how Maltese companies can benefit by hosting European trainees. Venue: Malta Enterprise offices, Pieta’ Time: 1:0pm – 4.00pm Date: 16 October 2012 Title: “Discerning the Opportunities and Challenges for Maltese Business in the Single Market” Event: In celebration of the 20^th anniversary from the setting up of the Single Market, a national conference will be held with parallel workshops underlining the many opportunities for doing business in Europe. Venue: Hotel Phoenicia, Floriana Time: 8.00am – 12.30pm Date: 17 October 2012 Title: “Accessing the Single Market” Event: Business Breakfast bringing together the Gozo business community and stakeholders interested in tapping the potential of the Single Market Venue: Hotel Kempinski,Gozo Time: 9.30am - noon Date: 18 October 2012 Title: National Crafts Conference Event: This event will address topical issues pertinent to the Maltese crafts sector with particular emphasis on tourism opportunities. Venue: St Julian’s [more details to be announced] Time: 9.00am - 1.00pm Date: 19 October 2012 Title: GreenBUILD Malta 2012 Event: A national conference followed by 1-to1 meetings with Italian companies. The event will assess various aspects of the Maltese construction industry and highlight innovative and green opportunities. Venue: Radisson Blu Hotel, St Julians Time: 9:00am – 4.00pm Date: 19 – 20 October 2012 Title: Single Market Fair Event: The 20^th anniversary of the Single Market will be celebrated through a full programme of displays and activities held throughout this weekend. Venue: Republic Street, Valletta Time: 9.00am – 6.30pm Date: 25 October 2012 Title: “Improving Business Skills” Event: A seminar that will help entrepreneurs improve the way they run their business and better their assertiveness, the way they communicate and market their company.
